Residential and commercial demand for pavers is returning, says Symmetrica Romania

Although the market for pavers continues to be mainly fuelled by public and infrastructure projects, the beginning of the year has seen a “slight increase” of demand for pavers coming from residential and commercial projects, said today representatives of Romanian pavers and vibropressed borders manufacturer Symmetrica.

Strabag: Romania is again on the multinationals investments map

Austrian group Strabag, which has built two highway segments between Deva and Sibiu, estimates that the local construction market, evaluated at approx. EUR 9.6 billion, will register this year an advance of 5.8 pct.

Constructor Straco, EUR 140 million turnover, EUR 0.2 million profit

Bucharest’s constructor Straco Grup, controlled by the brothers Alexandru and Traian Horpos, ended last year with a turnover of 616.5 million lei (EUR 140 million), with 29% down compared to 2012.

Antrepriza de Reparaţii şi Lucrări ARL Cluj, member of the Austrian group Strabag, has started in association with the company Serbis from Bistriţa, controlled by Liviu Mihail Naghiu, the construction works for Bistriţa Sud industrial park, an investment of 25 million lei (EUR 5.3 million).

Fene Grup changes name to ENGEKO

Romanian construction group Fene Grup will be renamed Engineering and General Constructing (ENGEKO) and will undergo a rebranding process, the company announced. Fene Grup was established by Relu Fenechiu, former Minister of Transport, found guilty of corruption.

Atlas SA, one of the biggest constructors in Galati district, with businesses exceeding EUR 6 million in 2012, entered insolvency, according to Bucharest Stock Exchange.
