Over 250 buildings and real estate projects from Romania were certified as ‘green buildings’ after one of the international sustainable schemes, BREEAM, LEED, EDGE and WELL, according to BuildGreen data, the leading consultant in the field of sustainable building design, development and certification in Romania.

The Vox Technology Park office project in Timisoara was awarded the BREEAM final green certificate with Excellent rating and a total score of 86.7%, the highest achieved by a real estate project in Romania and the only one with a score of over 85%.
The total of existing LEED or BREEAM certified office projects amounted to 1.3 million square meters of rentable are at the end of last year, which represents almost half of the total stock of modern offices in Romania, according to Colliers International Romania.
BuildGreen, Romania’s leading development, design and green building certification company, exceeded three million square meters assisted for sustainable certification. The second development phase of The Office in Cluj-Napoca developed by NEPI and Romanian entrepreneur Ovidiu Sandor has secured a BREEAM Excellent certification, according to BuildGreen, the company that managed the certification process.
