Romania had over 204,000 firms controlled by foreign investors, which had a total capital of over EUR 42.8 billion, in January 2016.

 

Some 42,000 companies had Italian capital. However, the Dutch companies had the biggest share based on the capital value, with over EUR 8.4 billion.

 

About 350 new companies with foreign capital were registered in January, according to the Trade Registry’s Office – ONRC. The total value of their capital amounted to some EUR 2.3 million.

 

Based on the investor’s origin country, 279 of them were from Europe, 43 from Asia, and 16 from North America. (Source: Romania-insider.com)
