”We are in a process of rapid selection, which is nothing easy, given the advanced language skills and the range of skills we are looking for,”said Vladimir Sterescu, country manager CGS Romania.

CGS is providing outsourcing solutions such as customer care, tech support, help desk, telesales, in 18 languages. In Romania, CGS has three centers, located in Bucharest, Brasov and Sibiu.

Approximately 150 out of the total 250 jobs advertised are in the company’s support center in Sibiu, while nearly 100 are in Brasov. Most of the positions must be filled by Romanian and English speakers. The available jobs requiring English, French, Italian, Spanish, German or Dutch are in customer care, customer support or technical support while consultants in customer relations should be speaking Romanian.

”The testing of candidates is a complex task since we want our employees to have sound knowledge of foreign languages, which- depending on the job- should be completed by other technical skills or various aptitudes. Our selection criteria are indeed very strict but in Romania there is no shortage of skilled workforce: we just have to ’find’each other,” said Sterescu.

Candidates who go through the first screening, will undergo further evaluation of their aptitudes to communicate with clients, take over requests, negotiation skills and technical abilities.

In Romania, CGS has nearly 3,000 employees, with 75 percent of them being under 25. About 95 percent of the CGS employees are graduates or students and speak up to five languages.

The salary package depends on the language that the employee speaks as well as the other skills they possess- such as technical or negotiation skills. In the first year after employment, total monthly salaries, which include salary, meal tickets and bonuses, can vary between the average gross income up to EUR 1,500 gross revenues.
