The average office transaction size increased by 35% in 2023 compared with 2022 while approaching the record level set in 2019

The average office transaction size during the first 9 months of 2023 has been of 1,810 sq. m, the highest average registered in the last 4 years and close to the record level of 1,900 sq. m set in 2019, according to data from the Cushman & Wakefield Echinox real estate consultancy company.

In the third quarter of 2023, companies leased offices for approximately 20,000 employees in Bucharest

The interest of office tenants was much higher for contract extensions in existing buildings than for new spaces in the third quarter. The companies traded a total area of 158,923 sqm, of which 104,004 sqm were contract extensions and 51,879 sqm leases of new spaces, in Bucharest, according to the analysis made by Fortim Trusted Advisors, member of the BNP Paribas Real Estate Alliance.
