In the fourth quarter of 2017, net investment in the Romanian economy reached 28.274 billion lei, 13.5% higher than in the fourth quarter of 2016. This increase was recorded for all structural elements: other expenses - plus 43, 2%, new construction works - plus 13.0% and machinery (including means of transport) - plus 2.3%.

According to INS, in 2017, compared with 2016, the net investments in the national economy increased by 6.4%, an increase registered for all structural elements, as follows: other expenditures by 17.4%, new construction works, with 4.9%, and machinery (including means of transport) by 3.9%.

According to activities of the national economy, in 2017, compared to 2016, there is an increase in the share of net investment in construction, by 7.1 percentage points. 33.4% of net investment was industry-driven, up 0.3 percentage points from year 2016.

Net investment represents the expenses for the creation of new fixed assets, the development, modernization and reconstruction of the existing ones, as well as the value of the services related to the transfer of ownership. (source: agerpres.ro)
