Works for Piata Presei passage could start in two months
The general mayor of Bucharest, Sorin Oprescu, announced that the works for the underground passage at Piata Presei Libere could start in approx. two months and will last for one year, one year and a half.
The mayor declared in a TV show on Sunday that the passage will start 50-60m after Miorita fountain, on the right side. It will include a tunnel in the direction to Marasti and Expozitiei Blvd, and a tunnel to Kiseleff Road, as well as one direction to Jiului St.
He insured the audience that the works will not block the entry to DN1.
Regarding the selection of the construction company for the works, Oprescu said that the project has been already designated to a company of Radu Ouatu local businessman, “in a joint venture”. (source: AGERPRES)
