Mega Image, the largest supermarket chain in Romania, part of the Ahold Delhaize International Group, leased a 705 sqm commercial space in Sema Park and inaugurated its new store on October 18th. The store will serve a community of about 6,000 employees, both within the Sema Park industrial park and the new Sema Office A class office buildings. The space rented by Mega Image is in a modernized, mixed-use (retail, restaurant and leisure) building with a built-up area of 2,500 sqm. Modernization of the building has combined elements of the "vintage" style facade to preserve the architectural heritage of the building, with modern facilities suitable for the new tenants' requirements.
Praktiker, the most well-known DIY store locally, has rented 1,200 sqm of class A offices in the Brussels building to relocate their headquarters from Voluntari.
Studio Moderna, the multi-national group with Slovenian origins present in Romania and in 20 other countries, the largest omni-channel retailer in the CEE region (owning the brands Dormeo, Delimano, Walkmaxx, Wellneo, Top Shop, Rovus and Live Active) has rented a 2,500 sqm class A office space on the ground floor of the Paris building in the Sema Office business park. The transaction was brokered by Colliers.
Representatives of River Development management say: "Studio Moderna will relocate its headquarters in the Polytechnic - Apaca area in the new Sema Office Paris office building. The reasons why the new partners chose the Paris and Brussels buildings in the Sema Office business park were the proximity of the Petrache Poenaru metro station (one minute away), but also the fact that the area is not very crowded. In addition, other factors contributing to the decision to move to Sema Office were the availability of sufficient parking spaces, but also the brightness of the space in which the teams will operate. "

We are constantly increasing the number of people in the team due to the massive development of the brands in our portfolio, "says Zoltan Pilecki, Managing Director of Studio Moderna Romania. "Moving into a space that will allow us to expand our activities will take place early next year, when the office and call center teams will move completely into the new space in Sema Park. We are about 350 people to relocate our activities", he added
The SEMA OFFICE Business Park is under construction in various phases. The Brussels Building, completed in 2016, has a leasable area of 13,800 sqm of Class A offices, spread over 2 floors. Tenants include the Bucharest Court Civil Service Section VI, Civil VII, Temenos Romania, British American Shared Services Europe, PTC Eastern Europe, Praktiker, 1 Minute.
The Paris building is currently under construction and has a leasable area of 10,700 sqm (GLA), a two-storey height scheme and a rental surface of the current floor of about 5,400 sqm. The building is scheduled for delivery in mid-November 2017 at the shell and core stage and can accommodate 1,160 employees.
The Berlin building is also under construction, it has a leasable area of 15,700 sqm, GF + 2 floors, planned to be delivered "shell and core" in the second quarter of 2018 and can accommodate 1,700 people.

In 2018, River Development intends to begin the Sema Office II phase of approximately 60,000 sqm of Class A offices, to be added to those on Splaiul Independenţei, as well as the delivering of the 21,000 sqm leasable project named The Light project in the Politehnica area.
