After 2013, a year when the office market registered the biggest activity growth compared to the other sectors of the real estate industry, the request continued to grow in the first months of 2014. The growth came both from expanding companies and the investors looking for upgrades of their premises.

 

The companies which signed the largest transactions in the office market in the first months of this year include the insurance company Generali, the producer of the antivirus solutions BitDefender and the importer of the Mercedes Benz, with leases for premises where approx. 2,500 employees could work, according to data centralized by ZF from the real estate consultancy companies.

 

The IT companies continued to represent a significant player on the Bucharest office market, but there were also transactions made by companies in the pharmaceutical field, industry or HR.

 

In Bucharest there is a stock of modern office space exceeding two million square metres, while cities such as Cluj-Napoca, Timişoara, Braşov and Iaşi have overall a stock of approx. 450,000 sq. m, less than a quarter of the Bucharest stock. (source: zf.ro)
