The bridge, built with co-financing from the EU Cohesion Fund, is part of the Pan-European transport corridor linking Dresden with Istanbul.
The bridge is almost 2 km long and has two traffic lanes in each direction, a railway track, two sidewalks and a bicycle lane. Construction costs have likely topped €250m, according to Agerpres.
