The lender said it took 18 months to set up the center, which is located in the Coresi Business Park – developed by Ascenta Management – on the Tractorul Platform.

“The opening on the Brasov operational center was a strategic decision of the bank,” said Carl Rossey, vice-president operations and IT of the Austrian lender.

“This move has allowed us to reevaluate processes, to simplify and standardize activities that were relocated in Brasov. This means on the long term smaller costs for the bank and higher efficiency per employee,” he added.

The center reached close top 600 employees that are split into four departments. The lender transferred a series of operations from its Bucharest HQ throughout 2012 and 2013. Raiffeisen filled positions by tapping the work force in Brasov, but also relocated 6 percent of its employees based in the Bucharest HQ to start operating the new center.

The Brasov-based center handles the processing of transactions, garnishments, the assessment and administration of retail loans and bank loan collections, in the same time providing call center services.

“The Brasov operational center is one of the most important projects of the Raiffeisen Bank’s team in recent years and I am glad it’s successful,” said Steven van Groningen, president & CEO Raiffeisen Bank. (source: business-review.eu, dailybusiness.ro)
