Less retail development possibilities according to DTZ
Some of the few construction options include east of Bucharest, Targu-Jiu, Galati and Timisoara, according to Estera Enache, senior consultant retail for DTZ Echinox.
She stated that the retail is still a difficult segment, especially for the secondary and tertiary commercial centres as well as for those trying to reposition. For example, Targu Jiu is a town with more than 100,000 inhabitants which does not benefit from a modern commercial centre and from the presence of international retail operators that can be found in other cities with a similar population.
In Galati, NEPI already announced a commercial development, and Mega Mall and Parklake Plaza are the announced projects for the eastern Bucharest.
If the development is poor, the consultants though expect changes on the construction market, as following some reconversions.
“We expect this year to see commercial development with problems which should adapt at some point to the market and zone conditions, without excluding the reconversion for another real-estate destination.”, has declared Estera Enache. (source: wall-street.ro)
