“We’re planning on 9 new Kaufland stores in Romania with opening dates almost set. The cities we are looking towards in 2015 are Constanta, Bacau, Braila, Arad, Bucuresti, Timisoara, Sibiu and Ramnicu Valcea”, said company representatives, quoted by Mediafax.

The first inauguration is scheduled for this spring in Constanta, when Kaufland will open its second unit in the town. According to previously released information, every hypermarket represents a EUR 6-9 million investment, so the budget for expansion in 2015 could be EUR 81 million.

Kaufland stopped at 102 hypermarkets last year, after opening 13 new stores. According to German press, Marco Hossl will take over management of Kaufland Romania, replacing Adrian Viman who was promoted to lead Kaufland Germany. (Source: business-review.eu)
