The malls will not be extended, as foreseen in the projects presented last autumn by Ali Ergun Ergen, the former manager who had announced total investment of EUR 50 million for the two commercial centres.

Moreover, a section of 10,000 sq m of the Plaza building, almost a quarter of the mall, will be reconverted to office building, on the background of the loss recorded in the last years by the mall in Drumul Taberei as a consequence of the strong entry on the western Bucharest market  of AFI Palace Cotroceni. „We decided not to fight AFI“, Gaiţă declared in his first interview since his appointment.

„In two years we want to have the two commercial centres renovated and operational. We are in the phase of renewal of permits, and we intend to start the works for Plaza in the beginning of next year and next spring the works for Bucharest Mall“, he added. (source: zf.ro)
