It issued 1.3 billion shares, each worth RON 0.10, which the company’s majority shareholder Monicole Exploitatiemaatschappij BV bought, reports local Mediafax.It thus increased its stake from 75% to 77%, whereas the other shareholder Auchanhyper SA decreased its stake from 24.9% to 22.4%.

 

In December last year, Auchan increased its capital by EUR 60 million, by issuing shares which Monicole Exploitatiemaatschappij BV also bought.

 

At the beginning of this year, Romania’s Competition Council approved Auchan’s takeover of the retail areas where its 12 hypermarkets and commercial galleries operate, in a transaction worth EUR 260 million.

 

This spring, the retailer will open its 33rd hypermarket, in the Coresi retail center in Brasov, in a project worth EUR 60 million. (Source: Romania-insider.com)
