„The building is completed and I have already sold 14 of the 62 residential units. There is a big interest in the project, but not all requests lead to sales.“ He adds that he is optimistic and hopes to sell everything by the end of the year. This is not the first real estate investment of Alecu, as he has developed together with his brother other buildings in Predeal and Bucharest since the period when he still worked for McDonald’s.

Starting 2009, Începând cu 2009, the credits freeze and the economic and labour market’s instability determined the Romanians to postpone the residential acquisitions. The prices followed a descending trend too.

Marian Alecu admits that there will be no return of the prices from the boom period, neither the associated gains of the companies in the field, but there is still profit. The price of a two-roomed apartment in Alecu’s residential building is EUR 55,000.

„If we sell the apartments in this building I immediately start another building“, he said. Alecu also has investments in HoReCa and jewellery fields. (source: zf.ro)
