The centre will include a hypermarket and a commercial gallery with over 50 stores on 18,000 sqm rentable area.

„With a few months before the opening we secured the gallery with brands such as Takko, CCC, Jolidon, Casa Rusu, Altex, Zoomania, Maxbet, Helpnet, Arsis, Germanos, Orange Store”, have declared at the end of March CBRE officials, the leasing agent of the project. By that time, nearly 80% of the available commercial spaces were signed and agreed. The commercial centre is targeting the southern half of the city.

Initially, the mall delivery was scheduled for the end of 2012, and the investment was estimated at EUR 100 million. In February 2011, the plans included 150 stores and an area of 45,000 sqm.

In the first quarter only one commercial centre was opened, Uvertura Mall din Botosani, most of the malls being scheduled for the second part of the year: Coresi Shopping City (1st phase) in Brasov, AFI Palace Ploiesti, Cora Slobozia, Promenada Mall Bucharest.

Cora Romania currently has ten stores, both property and leased areas, including four in Bucharest (Alexandriei, Pantelimon, Lujerului and Sun Plaza) and six in the countryside, in Cluj Napoca, Baia Mare, Arad, Drobeta Turnu Severin, Constanta and Bacau.

The network will open in the autumn the first hypermarket in Ploiesti, within the commercial centre developed by AFI Europe.

Cora Romania ended last year with a turnover of EUR 359 million, with 6% growth compared to 2011. (source: dailybusiness.ro)
