Only 11 percent of buildings stock existing in Romania can be considered new, according to an analysis of DTZ Echinox, based on the data from The National Institute of Statistics (INS).

 

For the regional distribution, the North-East region registers the greatest number of inhabitants and is in the top of deliveries from the last 26 years with over 200,000 new houses and apartments. Between 1990 and 2015, most of the buildings were constructed in Bucharest and Ilfov, Constanta, Suceava and Cluj. The best year for buildings deliveries was 2008.

 

The following regions for the deliveries level are in South-Muntenia with over 146,00 units and the region South-East with over 143,000 units.

 

In 2015 the level of deliveries increased by approximately 4.5 percent compared with 2014. Iasi and Sibiu registered the most significant increases. However, the number of delivered buildings increased in only 17 counties, while the other 25 registered a drop of the residential (source: business-review.eu)
