“We continue to attract regional investor interest in assets across the country, and in Bucharest in particular. Private equity investors and listed companies from Central and Eastern Europe are actively analyzing opportunities on the local market. This dynamic highlights Romania’s strategic position in the region and its growth potential,” said Mihai Pătrulescu, Head of Investment Properties, CBRE Romania.
In the last 4 years, CBRE has closed a series of landmark transactions, which have redefined the landscape of the Romanian real estate market:
· The largest real estate transaction in Romania was facilitated by assisting the seller, CA Immo, in the sale of its office portfolio in Bucharest, a transaction of approximately EUR 400 million.
· The largest retail transaction, worth approximately EUR 220 million, was marked by the sale of the Mitiska REIM portfolio, with CBRE’s involvement, to M Core.
· The largest sale & leaseback transaction was concluded by the CBRE team advising FM Logistic in the sale of a portfolio of over 100,000 sq m to CTP, with FM Logistic remaining a long-term tenant.
“Romanian investors are increasingly active in the real estate market, contributing significantly to the total volume of investments. In recent years, starting with 2021, Romanians have purchased real estate properties worth over 1 billion euros, i.e. a quarter of the total. This trend indicates a maturation of the local market and increased confidence in the long-term potential of the real estate sector in Romania”, added Laura Dumea-Bencze, Head of Research & Director Investment Properties, CBRE Romania.
CBRE continues to leverage the combined expertise of its Romanian and global teams for an integrated approach that focuses on each client’s business objectives – a formula that has proven effective in maintaining its leadership position in a dynamic and competitive market.
