The project will cover a 10-ha plot, which is placed alongside the Unirii boulevard, near the National Library, reports local Profit.ro. The draft project doesn’t mention when the construction work will start.

The Justice Ministry estimates that its contribution will amount to EUR 200 million. It plans to contract the money from the World Bank. The project’s budget totals EUR 575 million, according to the announcement made by the Development Ministry at the beginning of the year.

Around 2000, Romania’s Transport Ministry planned to develop on this plot the real estate project Esplanada, in public-private partnership with the Hungarian group TriGranit. The investment was estimated at about EUR 1 billion. The project was finally blocked due to several issues related to land restitution. (source: Romania-insider.com)
