'2018 is a reasonable and acceptable date and I think that, on July 1, 2019, when Romania is president of the European Union, everybody coming to Bucharest should bring euros along, not lei,' said the Premier at the National Bank of Romania during the seminar titled 'Romania of Investments, Romania of Development.'

The Prime Minister added that Romania would have bigger chances if it connects 'symbolical moments to symbolical data' and explained that the choice of the year 2018 as a date for switching to the euro can be included in the 'great project celebrating the 100th anniversary of Romania .'
