Therefore, the number of real estate transactions has increased with over 55,000 in the first five months compared to the similar period of last year. In January-May 2013 the national number of cadastre and land registry operations was over 2 million, with 237,975 more than the similar period of last year, Mediafax writes.

In May there were registered 60,770 countrywide real estate transactions, with 14,167 less than the precedent month and with 8,007 less compared to May 2012.

In the first five months of this year most of the cadastre and land registry operations were registered in Bucharest – 136,447, Timis – 123,492, Cluj – 98,309, and the fewest in Covasna – 23,117, Olt – 22,706, Salaj – 19,991. The only district with less cadastre and land registry operations compared to the first five months of the last year is Mures, with a difference of 20,320.

At the same time, in the analysed period the number of the submitted mortgages and privileges was 54,472, with a 696 decrease compared to the same period of last year. In May, the number of nationwide submitted mortgages and privileges was 10,656, with 3,094 less than in the previous month and with 1,901 less compared to May 2012.

The number of first operations in the integrated cadastre and land registry system in the first five months of 2013 reached 177,543, with 31,629 more than the same period of 2012. In May there were registered 33,099 operations, with 8,443 less than in April and with 5,319 less compared to May last year.

The number of real estate transactions registered in Romania last year has increased with 9.1% compared to 2011, from 646,112 to 705,338 operations, with over 20% decrease of registered mortgages. (source: wall-street.ro)
