The biggest net average salaries were realized in the financial intermediaries and insurance in 2015, in telecommunications, extractive industry by 85.8 percent, the production and supply of electric and thermal energy, gas, warm water and air-conditioning with 65.5 percent, public administration with 55.6 percent. The net average monthly salaries which were under the average salaries per economy were in hotels and restaurants (41.9 percent), other activities and services (30.2 percent), agriculture, forestry and fishing (23.5 percent), administrative services and support services (23.2 percent), property transactions (18.5 percent) and manufacturing industry (8.3 percent), says the release.

According to the INS, the real salary index (expressed as a ratio between the normal nominal net salary and the index of consumers’ prices) was 144.6 percent in 2015 compared with 1990 and bigger by 13.4 percent percentage points compared with 2014.

„Women earned on average 7 percent less than men, earning an average gross salary of RON 2,453 (compared with RON 2,646 for men). Males earn net average salaries superior to females in most of the economic activities, the biggest differences (over 25 percent) being in financial intermediaries and insurance sector (41.4 percent) and other activities and services (28.6 percent),” says INS.

On territory profile, the average monthly salary in 2015 was under the economic average in 37 counties. The lowest level was in Neamt county, with RON 1,359, with 26.9 percent less than the economic average. On the other hand, the highest monthly average salary was in Bucharest (RON 2,696), with 45 percent over the economic average.

„The monthly average expense with the workforce was RON 3,189/employee in 2015, a growth of 6.7 percent compared with 2014. The monthly average expense was significantly higher in the extractive industry, respectively financial intermediaries and insurance (by 2.2 times), information and communications (96.5 percent), the production and electric and thermal energy supply (71.7 percent),” adds the INS.

It also adds that the average number of employees was over 4.6 million persons in 2015, an increase of 103,700 persons compared with 2014. (source: business-review.eu)
